Severe Stomatitis and Rhinitis

This case presented last week at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Orlando.  Female 5 year old Maltese.  Severe generalized stomatitis with sublingual and palatal involvement.  The nasal mucosa was extremely hyperemic.   Prolific mucopurulent oral and nasal discharge.  Previous biopsy non-specific inflammation.  Mucocutaneous nasal and oral biopsy's pending.  Derm consult suggests either mucocutaneous pyoderma or autoimmune.  No visible cutaneous lesions. Derm prescribed immunosuppressive doses of pred and Clavamox. Biopsy suggests erythema multiforme.   Second option sought at U of Wisconsin with Dr. Dubielzig.
